Needle valves from Clippard Instrument Laboratory can be used to control the rate of flow in a pneumatic system by controlling flow in two directions. Material enters the input port, travels through an adjustable orifice, and out the output port. Clippard’s new GNV series is available with 1/8, 1/4, and 3/8-in. port sizes with flow rates up to 60 scfm at 100 psig. Mounting options include direct and in-line, as well as cartridge styles. Adjustment is achieved by either a recessed slot or knurled knob. The valve provides bidirectional flow control. The valves also are suitable for use with the company’s push-quick fittings.

The Rotork Fairchild Model 55 pressure regulator features a nonrising stem within a small footprint design, delivering high-precision control in a lightweight, compact package. Manufactured entirely from polymer and stainless steel, the Model 55 offers compatibility with medical and scientific gases such as nitrogen, helium, and oxygen. It has a supply capacity up to 150 psi and flow capacity up to 10 scfm. The Model 55 controls output pressures up to 100 psi to within ± 0.2 psi. Its high-pressure capability and accuracy at low control pressures make the Model 55 suited for such applications as precision pressure decay and leak testing, medical ventilators, respiratory diagnostic systems, balloon pumps, and sterilization equipment

The PC10 is the high-flow version of Humphrey Products’ PC3 miniature proportional valve. The PC10 is a 10–32 threaded, 2-port proportional valve capable of 0-65 LPM flow at 5.2 W maximum power consumption. It is available as an inline or manifold mount, with control voltage options of 0–10V or 0–20V, and has option picks for maximum pressure ratings up to 100 psig and orifice sizes to 0.090 in. Additionally, the PC10 has the same mounting footprint as the PC3.

Miniature vacuum pump
The JS-40UM cylindrical venturi vacuum pump is a small complete venturi vacuum pump. Compact and powerful, it measures the size of a finger tip and generates up to 27 in.Hg (914 mbar) of air pressure. Lightweight, quiet, and cool operating, JS-40UM pumps are suitable for use in confined spaces, where they can be mounted in-line near the point of use. The single-stage design allows ingested contaminants to flow through the pump without clogging. Constructed of a single material, with no seals or moving parts, the J Series pumps are said to be virtually indestructible. They can be manufactured in a variety of materials, making them suited for use in adverse operating conditions. J Series pumps provide a constant vacuum flow, rather than a fluctuating flow typically associated with diaphragm pumps. They operate with an instantaneous response in pulsed applications or on a continuous basis.
