Medical device recalls are on the rise, the Stericycle ExpertRECALL announced this week. The recall tracking group stated that recalls increased more than 160% in Q1 of 2012, which affected more than five times as many units as in the previous quarter. And speaking of recalls, the plot thickens in the case of the PIP breast implants as it was revealed this week that surgeons had notified the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency as far back as 2006 with concerns regarding the faulty products.
