Cadence, Inc. has been named one of MD+DI's 2011 Best Companies to Work for. MD+DI says, "The traditional model of carrot and stick incentives simply doesn’t work for modern employees. What motivates the R&D engineer or the quality control manager is far more complex. Medical device manufacturers are in a unique position to create the best working environments for employees."

Cadence has maintained an open office environment with a no-door policy since its founding in 1985. “It’s kind of cool,” says Corporate HR analyst Keri Rankin, who sits across from the CEO. “We have a lot more collaboration than we would if we were sitting in our own offices.” The offices at Cadence aren't the only open book, financials are as well. Employees have access to daily intranet updates and quarterly meetings on the company’s performance and goals.
