Monroe, CTSeptember 20, 2011 — Northeast Laser & Electropolish easily passes its ISO 9001 one-year recertification audit.

Beginning September 12, Northeast Laser & Electropolish was subject to a ISO 9001 one-year audit. After three days of intensive questioning, research, and observation of Northeast Laser’s quality system, the auditor did not have any findings to document; neither major nor minor.

Northeast Laser & Electropolish (NLE) began implementing its ISO 9001 quality system when one of its customers required it for its next project. NLE met their customer’s deadline and received its certification September 23, 2010. Since then NLE has won projects and partnered with more medical device manufacturers to expand its business.

According to Kurt England, one of the partners at NLE, “It was well worth the effort. Our quality system prior to implementing ISO 9001 was adequate for doing small job-shop work. We wanted to grow the company and knew that to do so, we needed to step it up a notch and show that we are capable and the best way to do that was to improve our quality system. Following the ISO standard helped us to get there.”
