(October 1, 2011) — Mikrotech, LLC (Kenosha, WI) has completed the expansion of operations at its facility in Kenosha, WI. An increased demand for micromolded components used in minimally invasive surgery (MIS) has prompted the addition of a Battenfeld Microsystem 50 micromolding production cell and the expansion of the ISO Class 8 clean room. The Battenfeld Microsystem 50 is designed specifically for plastic injection molding miniature components weighing less than one gram.
“One of our primary goals in expanding the Kenosha facility is to increase our ability to serve our customers. A strong demand to reduce the limitations on size, complexity, material selection, production yields and profitability for MIS devices is driving our growth,” said John Whynott, Technical Product Manager of Mikrotech.
Mikrotech is a leading full service micromanufacturer of custom-designed components and subassemblies for medical devices used in minimally invasive surgery. Mikrotech offers a comprehensive range of services to support MIS designers and manufacturers in all phases of the product development cycle: micromachining, micromolding, insert micromolding, micro subassembly and design and manufacturing engineering assistance.
