SUNNYVALE, Calif. – August 25, 2010 – Modified Polymer Components, Inc., a leading developer and manufacturer of custom plastic components for medical device OEMs, announces the completion of its development and manufacturing facilities expansion from 23,000 square feet to 49,600 square feet, more than doubling its operational capacity.
ISO 9001:2008 and ISO 13485:2003 certified Modified Polymer Components supports inventors, start-ups and OEMs by manufacturing custom components and assemblies, with on-time delivery of high quality products. In-house design and development capabilities are complimented by small and large scale production abilities. Skills include micromolding, reinforced shafts, introducers, obturators, electrical assembly and tube bending with all thermoplastics and many metals.
Capabilities include manufacturing of wire reinforced tubing, product improvement and custom modifications to existing components. Modified Polymer Components engineering teams work in collaboration with customers to design and produce pilot projects for manufacturing. Prototypes are fully tested for compliance with customer production standards and component specifications.
Now Under Two Roofs
Founded in 1989, Modified Polymer Components has grown to over 150 employees that have served more than 1,500 customers. The new expansion allows the company to serve customers with increased R&D, design, development and production facilities since retrofitting for engineering and manufacturing its adjacent next-door building.
"Our success is built on our two main objectives: high quality products and customer satisfaction," says Modified Polymer Components founder and CEO Mike Taylor. "We believe our commitment to excellence, innovation and service will continue to propel our growth and success well into the future."
A Passion For Excellence
Every individual that is part of the Modified Polymer Components team understands the importance of the group and the product that he or she manufactures, with pride on achieving precise conformance to the most complex specifications in component design. The process is supported by regular inspections of manufacturing to ensure unsurpassed quality control and timely delivery.
Product development is fully documented from initial prototypes and pilot production to full scale manufacturing. Reviews are conducted regularly to analyze every aspect of every project. Modified Polymer Components procedures support IQ, OQ and PQ documentation.
Any Size, Any Complexity, Any Tolerance
Modified Polymer Components performs modifications of any complexity to custom and off-the-shelf plastic components with flaring, flanging, joining, tipping, coating, cutting, drilling, skiving and bending.
The company is experienced in thermoplastic geometries and can micromold to tolerances as low as +/-0.0005. Modified Polymer Components works with a wide range of polymer materials and can tip and flare any thermoplastic including LDPE, HDPE, PVC, Nylon, Pebax, Pellethane, Polycarbonate, FEP, PFA, PTFE, PEEK, ULTEM and composites.
Low To High Volume Production
Modified Polymer Components can scale manufacturing cost effectively, so OEMs can create world-class components in limited to large quantities. Low volume production runs allow accelerated delivery of product revisions to customers, and for producing unique components in limited quantities. High volume production facilities are fully optimized for consistent, quality manufacturing.
