March 11, 2011, St. Louis, Missouri - AG Industries, a leading manufacturer of medical devices, healthcare filters and related systems for the medical industry, announced the acquisition today of SP Medical, LLC, a Superior Products Company and manufacturer of home healthcare products. This acquisition will expand the product and capability portfolio of AG Industries, allowing customers to access an expanded range of products direct from the manufacturer.

SP Medical will be relocating its manufacturing and sales offices to St. Louis. Tim Austin, formerly Managing Director of SP Medical will be joining AG Industries as VP of Sales and Business Development.

SP Medical also sells directly to its home healthcare customers. "Our model mirrors that of AG Industries," says Austin. "We see joining forces as an opportunity to give our customers direct access to more products, expanded  manufacturing capabilities, enhanced services and the benefits of consolidated purchasing.
