Seattle, Wash. – June 20, 2012 — Stratos Product Development LLC today announced the addition of Michael Albin, Ph.D., as scientific advisor.
Dr. Albin brings several decades of experience in life sciences, including: Vice President, Strategic Technologies at Applera Corp.; Vice President, Science and Technology at Applied Biosystems; and numerous scientist and R&D roles. With his leadership, the team was the recipient of two National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) advanced technology awards and garnered strategic relationships with 3M, AclaraBioSciences, Illumina and Micralayne. As Principal Scientist at Applied Biosystems, Michael developed technology for micro-volume polymerase chain reaction (PCR) and received a $6 million NIST grant to develop technology for Applied Biosystems which has since been patented and commercialized.
