Ethylenetetrafluoroethylene (ETFE) is a fluoropolymer that offers much of the corrosion and chemical resistance of other fluoropolymer tubing, but also offers medical device manufacturers the benefits of high resistance to impact and stress cracking. These properties are retained by ETFE tubing to working temperatures of -300°F to over 300°F, along with excellent abrasion resistance and good permeability resistance. This makes ETFE tubing ideal for replacing stainless steel in high-performance liquid chromatograph (HPLC) testing applications. Though it is resistant to general chemicals, some organic compounds may cause swelling and reduce pressure stability.
