Connecticut Spring & Stamping is a globally active contract manufacturer producing precision stampings, springs and assemblies for medical device OEM’s. Our components are used in critical surgical instruments, drug delivery systems, orthopedic and dental applications. We make drive channels for many of the endoscopic clip appliers, along with the jaws and titanium clips.

Creativity and innovation at Connecticut Spring & Stamping help us tackle the most challenging components and projects. CSS employs a team of design engineers, project managers & tooling engineers, most of whom have 20 or more years of experience in the precision metal stamping and spring industry. We have a very diverse background focusing on the medical market.

CSS is totally committed to meeting or exceeding our customer’s needs and requirements. Take advantage of our experience through the early involvement of our design team in your product development. We can make recommendations to improve manufacturability, reduce cost and enhance the functionality of your components. CSS routinely interacts with our customers utilizing solid modeling and Inventor, providing the best options within normally restricted windows on tight tolerance parts.

Prototyping is the next critical step in the services we provide. Whether it is a spring, stamping or assembly, fast turn around is essential.

Newly launched stamping projects are handled by our Design and Tooling Development Team working in a dedicated cellular environment. To ensure the best possible manufacturing process, all designs must be approved by a cross functional Design Review Team. This team encompasses personnel from all the relevant manufacturing areas and Quality engineering. The team reviews the design at key stages as it progresses through the development process. All phases of the tool design and tool build are controlled by a planning and monitoring system to ensure on time delivery.

By providing design support, engineering assistance, prototyping, precision manufacturing, high-level quality control, and on-time delivery, CSS strives to have all of the contract manufacturing bases covered. One of the primary reasons companies look to us is for the broad expertise across many different product lines, with significant technical support in each area. We handle high volume or short run parts and assemblies, and manufacture all types of assemblies, stampings and springs out of round, square, and flat wire. Materials range from .003 to .250 thickness.

CSS holds certifications under ISO 9001:2008 and AS 9100: 2004, and is planning to obtain ISO 13485 certification for continued expansion of its medical manufacturing.
