Thermoplastic Assembly

In the market for a new ultrasonic welder? Have a textile or packaging application and want to see how it can be processed? Perhaps you're not sure what hot air/cold upset is all about...Or maybe you need a fully automated assembly system.

  • Ultrasonic Plastic Assembly: Ultrasonic plastic welding is the joining or reforming of thermoplastics through the use of heat generated from high-frequency mechanical motion. It is accomplished by converting high-frequency electrical energy into high-frequency mechanical motion. That mechanical motion, along with applied force, creates frictional heat at the plastic components' mating surfaces (joint area) so the plastic material will melt and form a molecular bond between the parts.
  • Laser Welding of Plastics: Advantages include the fact that no particulate is generated; it's a vibration-free process; hermetic seals are achievable; there's no wear on the tooling; creates an optically perfect weld joint area; its highly precise; and simple joint geometries can be achieved.
  • Ultrasonic Fabric and Film Processing: bonding, slitting, or sealing of fabrics and films containing thermoplastic material(s). Typical thermoplastic materials found in fabrics and films include acrylics, nylon, polyester, polyethylene, polypropylene, polyvinylchloride, and urethane. Products from the textile, apparel, nonwovens, packaging, medical and automotive industries all benefit from the fast, clean, and economical fabric & film processing techniques.
  • Spin Welding: Dukane Ultrasonics offers a range of advanced, high quality spin welders in stand alone or fully automated units for today's advanced applications. Dukane spin welders work with most thermoplastics, will accommodate large diameter parts, and easily achieve hermetic seals. Dukane's spin welders provide precise control of the melt temperature and contain the ability to weld large, complex parts. The result: excellent weld strength and hermetic seals every time.
  • Hot Plate Welders: The ideal assembly solution for medium, contoured, or complex thermoplastic parts - hot plate welders. Designed for versatility and easy tooling changeover to accommodate a variety of parts. Typical hot plate welding applications include fuel tanks, reservoirs, taillight lenses, and vent ducts. The hot plate welders easily achieve hermetic seals, and finished part weld strength approaching that of the virgin material.

Ultrasonic Metal Welding

You're up to speed on ultrasonic metal welding and soldering assembly technologies, right? Brush up on your knowledge and see some metal welding applications. Dukane has a full line of ultrasonic welders to meet your metal welding needs.

Ultrasonic metal welding is sometimes called "cold welding" because it works without melting the metals. It cleans and welds at temperatures lower than the melting point of the metals. It most commonly joins nonferrous metals, but can also be used with others, such as when welding aluminum to ceramics.
