Memry has more than 25 years of recognized success and leadership inventing, developing and producing nitinol and other superelastic and shape memory alloys, semi-finished forms, and fabricated components.
Our work begins at the foundry, creating nitinol alloys with Vacuum Induction Melting (VIM) and VIM/Vacuum Arc Remelting (VAR), resulting in highly specialized production ingots of 30 to 4000 pounds each. We then produce a full range of mill products: billets, slab, bar, coil, hot rolled sheet and redraw wire. We can melt test heats of new alloys as small as two pounds and as large as 300 pounds.
We recently announced the development of NiTiCo, a nickel titanium cobalt custom alloy that blends the strengths of stainless steel and nitinol. NiTiCo has superelasticity equivalent to nitinol but more than 35 percent greater stiffness.
In semi-finished forms, Memry produces nitinol wire, strip, sheet and tube. Our fabrication and finishing processes include shape-setting and heat treatment, wire EDM, laser cutting, custom grinding, joining and welding, coiling, surface finishing, coatings and platings, and final assembly.
Our robust prototyping services deliver engineer-to-engineer interaction on component design at the earliest stages. We integrate careful attention to production feasibility for a market-friendly, business-savvy approach.
