Delivering Manufacturing and Technology Solutions

Oberg Medical, an Oberg Industries company, is a value-added/value-engineering contract manufacturer of medical devices offering a unique combination of technology solutions and skilled employees with a passion to help our customers succeed. We support OEMs focused on Medical Instrumentation, Cardio Vascular, Orthopaedic, Spinal, and Trauma markets.

Quality Focus

Our quality system is FDA 21, CFR part 820 compliant and is certified to ISO 9001:2008 standards. Oberg Medical’s validation master plan covers all manufacturing processes, including special processes, and utilizes the IQ, OQ, PQ methodology. We ensure process risks are identified by developing a risk management plan to meet Oberg Medical’s requirements and/or customer expectations.

Supply Chain Focus

Oberg Medical has a vast array of integrated technologies and services in-house such as: 3-, 4-, and 5-axis milling (over 30 machines), wire and plunge EDM (over 20 machines), Swiss and multi-tasking turning (over 10 machines), grinding, progressive stamping (over 50 presses), heat treating, laser welding/marking, cleaning, nitric/citric passivation, assembly, inspection, and non-sterile packaging.

We support various vendor managed inventory programs (kanban, consignment, etc.) to mitigate supply chain disruption and reduce working capital costs. Our technical transfer teams and program management resources follow structured guidelines to ensure all launch or transfer objectives are met. Plus, we have an established manufacturing facility in Costa Rica (since 2002) with nearly 100 employees to assist OEMs with LCC cost reduction initiatives.

Innovation Focus

Our proprietary grinding technology – Molecular Decomposition Process® (MDP) – is an extremely advanced form of electrochemical grinding. MDP provides a burr-free finish that eliminates the need for secondary operations, such as electropolish. This process produces a surface finish less than 1 Ra µ and generates no heat or thermals into the workplace which makes it a good application for difficult to machine materials such as nitinol and zirconium.
