Multi-Prong Infusion Needle Case Study:
Challenge: A medical device manufacturer needed to reduce the manufacturing cost of a multi-prong infusion needle used for tumor ablatement. The original design required the use of expensive Nitinol tubing, inflating the cost of the device due to the need for heat-set shaping to achieve a consistently accurate curvature of the collapsible tines.
The Peridot Solution: We approached the challenge in two ways: we sought to reduce material costs by replacing the Nitinol tubing with 304 full-hard stainless steel hypo-tubing, and we centralized the entire manufacturing and assembly process within our facility.
Results: Through smart material specification and streamlined processes, Peridot was able to lower the cost of the client's product, while also reducing production time and improving product function and reliability.
Surgical Training Model Assembly Case Study:
Challenge:One of Peridot’s long-time clients recently presented our team with a unique challenge: sort through a 50-piece, nine-year-old surgical training model assembly, which included incomplete parts and assembly models, and poorly organized drawings from the customer’s former contract manufacturer, to improve on the design and produce it from start to finish.
The Peridot Solution: We redesigned, manufactured, assembled, warehoused and distributed the new and improved training model assembly. Our success on such a complex project hinged on excellent project management and demonstrated the incredible value of being a one-stop manufacturing partner.
Results:We love any challenge that comes with the opportunity to deliver superior results as a one-stop-shop. Our client is thrilled with the run of their first 50 completed assemblies, and they are seeking to further improve the product and ramp-up production. Sounds good to us.
We’ve tackled the toughest projects for clients like Abbott Diagnostics, Arthrocare, Angiodynamics and Stryker could throw at us; we're confident we can successfully tackle yours.
Whether you have final design specs and just need precision manufacturing and assembly services, or you have an idea that could benefit from hands-on refinement, Peridot will exceed your expectations.
We believe that the future of medicine is bright. And we're excited to be a part of it. Stay current with all things Peridot, precision manufacturing and the medical device industry on our blog: http://www.peridot.com/blog/
