Next we look at tooling options. Our shop is equipped to produce Prototype, Bridge, and Production Tooling. We can accommodate quick-turn tooling in the early stages of a program and follow up with multi-cavity production tools. Our Makino CNC and EDM equipment allow us to manufacture features that were unachievable until now. We have installed the 3R/Hermann Schmidt Nano Positioning System on this equipment. This technology allows our toolmakers to remove mold components as needed and reset within .000030”. PDC has also developed thermal management technology to accommodate high heat resins such as PEEK.
PDC’s manufacturing operations are conducted in an ISO Class 8 Clean Room. Out micro-molding injection presses have been customized and are equipped with the proper sized screws and barrels. We have extensive experience with most Medical Grade Thermoplastics such as PEEK, PEKK, LCP, PeBax, Polysulfone, and Cyclo-Olefin Polymers with an emphasis on COP & PEEK. Capabilities include insert molding, film overmolding, resin overmolding, cell manufacturing, robotics, specialized packaging, and bar-coding.
Finally, our Quality Management System was designed around the Medical Industries’ requirements and expectations. Its foundation is our ISO 13485 Certification. PDC has invested heavily in systems that will accommodate our customers’ needs and will stay in the forefront of technical requirements. A good example of cutting edge Metrology is our Nikon VMR 3020 CMM. We have full Validation, Gage R&R, DOE, and other programs to suit your total quality needs.
