Silicone Molding

SGPPL is an experienced custom silicone fabricator with expertise in a variety of molding processes to provide medical device OEMs with the most precise molded component. SGPPL's Application Development Engineers partner with our customers to understand all aspects of the component's function within the final application. The continued trend toward smaller devices and rapid growth in minimally invasive surgical procedures is driving the demand for micro-sized solutions from medical device manufacturers and component suppliers. Saint-Gobain Performance Plastics' proprietary micromolding process delivers higher precision and shot-to-shot repeatability than conventional injection molding and achieves tolerance targets on complex medical devices that conventional molders cannot maintain.  With in-house tooling and dedicated project engineers, Saint-Gobain is your partner in developing and producing even the smallest of medical devices.

SGPPL is leading the industry in the advancement of silicone molding applications, including the development of two-shot thermoplastic-silicone molding. In this two-shot molding process, silicone parts and rigid thermoplastic substrates are molded together in one press providing part cost savings, improved part performance, increased bond strength between device components and freedom to design without assembly.

Thermoplastic and Silicone Extrusion

With an array of materials, ranging from platinum-cured silicone to Non-DEHP PVC, SGPPL offers flexibility in choice by providing a product line of fully characterized tubing. Customer convenience is of utmost priority for SGPPL and stocking standard BioSil® silicone tubing and TYGON® tubing at 11 locations throughout the world, makes it easier for customers to standardize products within their global manufacturing operations.

Fluoropolymer Molding and Extrusion

SGPPL offers a variety of fluoropolymer materials including PTFE, FEP, MFA, PFA, and ETFE. Our facilities are able to meet very high demands on the surface finish and tolerances of tubing and molded components. Using state-of-the-art machinery and monitoring equipment, SGPPL is able to provide custom medical tubing and molded components to meet medical device OEMs critical needs.
