Vacuum Metalization for the Medical Industry
In order to protect medical devices from electromagnetic interference, vacuum metallized conductive coatings are a cost effective viable solution. We offer a vaporized aluminum conductive coating with consistent thickness and low resistance. Vacuum metallization with aluminum is lightweight, durable, environmentally friendly and an excellent EMI/ESD shielding choice for medical device enclosures. Our engineering staff will design, develop and manufacture a final mask design using modern design software and precision CNC machining centers that will insure consistent mask lines every cycle. VTI’s micro thin coating will not interfere with assembly closure fits and will not affect thread engagement unlike conductive paints which tend to build up within the threaded insert. Our coating offers more consistent coverage and resistivity than conductive paint or other conventional processes.
Medical device manufacturers prefer to use our vacuum deposition process because it does not involve the use of a basecoat that may contain harmful VOC’s. VOC’s (volatile organic compounds) may negatively affect the environment and human health. Robotically Dispensed Form-In-Place Gasket
VTI Vacuum Technologies robotically dispenses conductive or non-conductive gaskets for applications requiring EMI or environmental sealing. Some of the materials offered are silver aluminum, silver nickel, silver copper and nickel graphite. We stock and dispense materials from Chomerics, Laird Technologies and Momentive. Gaskets may be moisture or thermal cured. Robotically dispensed gasket is a viable alternative to sealing electronic enclosures and eliminating tedious assembly of O-rings in a groove. VTI’s robots have 3 axis and 6 axis capabilities.
