Wired Foot Controls have been around for decades. Linemaster created its first wired foot switch in the 1950’s and have been adapting to customer requirements and incorporating technological advances ever since. To date, using copper conductors (physical wires) to transmit electronic signals is the most reliable way to transmit or receive data.
Wireless Foot Control interfaces entered the medical market in the early 2000’s. A need for a pedal that could be maneuvered without a tether has been a need in operating rooms for quite some time and a Wireless solution provides the end user with that luxury.
The pros and cons of each type of foot control are discussed in this white paper.
